so actually every year they compete to see who gets the name "kappa". that's why they are across the street from each other. whoever chants their songs during recruitment louder is called kappa for that year.

because last year everything was on zoom, kappa alpha theta and kappa kappa gamma met in the street and had a riff-off to see who got the name. kappa kappa gamma won for that year, but everyone says thought kappa alpha theta deserved it.
