do houses drop girls in harder majors?
by: pnmik this website is a bunch of bs but i am in a harder major and i saw somewhere that houses will drop girls in harder majors bc they typically have lower gpas and dont want it to mess theirs up. also because they have a bigger time commitment to school. is this true??

I guess it depends on what sorority, but I haven't heard of that. I am in a mid-tier sorority and a biology major. Lots of my pledge sisters are also biology, science, engineering, accounting, education. I have good friends in other mid-tier sororities who are also science majors, nursing, allied health. I don't know anyone in Zeta, AXO, DG, DZ, AOPI, ADPI, or KD, so can't say.

That’s not true, though if you are an upperclassmen rushing in a hard major, we don’t evaluate majors and GPA’s when cutting for grade risks. If you are an engineering major with a 2.9, you’re going to have a very difficult rush.
We def don’t look at freshmen majors when cutting - people change their majors so much that would be ridiculous. Half the science & engineering freshmen won’t even be in those majors by the end of their sophomore year.

i think tamu publishes all chapters grades somewhere so you might be able to see but if you have a lower gpa it will probably be hard to get into any of the top gpa houses since they don’t want to pull themselves down. houses lower down on the list probably have more girls in hard majors since on avg they have lower gpas than other majors

why would they tho? if a girl has a GPA similar to their average, maybe slightly lower (like 0.1-0.2) but is in a tough major, isn’t that impressive and something a house wants to have?
