I got two houses back for pref neither were my top picks throughout requirement but i’m willing to give one a chance the other i just can’t see myself being happy in, i have been trying to drop them since day 1, any advice on suicide pref, if i get a bid to the house i haven’t been connecting with i won’t accept & i don’t want to take someone’s spot who may love that house

DO NOT suicide. You take away your bid guarantee. What you need to do is go to both prefs and TELL the chapter you want that you are preffing them. Tell the other chapter thank you for inviting you to pref but that’s you found your home elsewhere.

If you suicide you lose the option of Quota Additions. Recruitment is going strongly for most houses, their may be quota additions available.

Quota Addition is a PNM who otherwise would not have gotten a bid, and will be matched to a chapter she has listed on her pref round rankings AS LONG AS HER NAME APPEARS ON THEIR PREFERENTIAL BID LIST (AKA they wanted to extend her a bid).

House cannot accept more than 5% over quota. (So, no more than 4 girls per house).

PNMs are not eligible if they have prefed only one house.

When you list both chapters, you get essentially three chances to match with your #1. If you are on their first bid list, you will match and be done. If that chapter isn’t at total (or they met quota, but they had a bunch of girls not returning this fall so they are below chapter total) they can choose to accept quota additions. They will just go down the list. If you are high enough on the second bid list, you will match with your #1. If all quota spots and quota addition spots fill for your #1 before they get to your name on the list, you will match with your #2. Now, if you are really low on the #2 list and they fill quota and accept all their quota additions before they get to your name on the list then you will go to #1 and not count against quota/QAs. This third matching is very rare, but it is only possible if you list both.

Tell the one you’re willing to give a chance that you want to be there..... tell the one you absolutely don’t want that you’ve already found your home. That way you have a better chance at getting the one you want over the one you won’t accept.
