I need some help
by: PNM!!I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea or say I am being ungrateful or any of that so I just wanted to address that first. I am so happy to be here and apart of this process. However, there is one house that I really have not been connecting with at all. We have very different values and ideas of sisterhood and I feel like that is very obvious. But they keep inviting me back. I am so incredibly grateful for that and all of the girls are so kind and sweet but I just really can't see myself there. I think I would accept a bid but I also don't want to take the place of another PNM who is in love with this house when I just am not. Is there any way to convey that to a chapter without it being taken in the wrong way? I know people say just keep giving it a chance but I have and I really do not feel like I belong there. Any advice??

No there’s no way they’ll know who you are. What’s the house? Is it your only house left?

Girl, I have a house that I feel that exact way towards. Hopefully, I'll be cut from them before pref night, but if you are asked back for the pref round, my best advice is to just tell them honestly. I would say something along the lines of, "Thank you for having me here but I really think I found my place somewhere else." Kind, but to the point. Or if that doesn't work just don't help the conversation at all, and answer generically? Either way good luck, and you're def not being ungrateful if you don't vibe with them.

Please do not just answer generically. Telling them that your found you home somewhere else is the best way to get your point across. Answering generically will just make the entire conversation awkward. You will most likely still have a great conversation if you begin by saying you found your place elsewhere!

I told a house “Thank you for having me, I just want to let you know I found my home somewhere else” on pref night when I went through. I did this pretty much at the beginning of our convo, and then we spent the rest of the night relaxed and just talking, no pressure. I thought it would be awkward but it really wasn’t!
