getting dropped!
by: worried pnmI really vibed with two of my houses during sisterhood but I think I might've come off too reserved about my feelings for the house! I didnt verbally affirm how much I love the sisterhood because I was worried about coming off too eager/desperate and now Im worried I will get dropped because of it! I have them preffed for the next round but Im still scared because I have already been dropped from all of my original favorites despite a killer resume and multiple RECS and LOS for each house :(

Hopefully you’ll be fine, but if I were you And was really worried id find a way to let the sororities know if you can. Do you have any friends in those chapters? If so, have your mom or another friend that isn’t rushing text them and tell them how much you like the sorority. Do that ASAP.

Unfortunately I don’t know anyone in Greek life :( I’m first gen and don’t know anyone at Tamu yet

Hmmm well, maybe go follow the sorority instagrams that you’re interested in. And, if you’re feeling bold, try to find the girls you spoke with and follow them. If they do like you, they will take this as a sign that you like them. But maybe don’t follow a bunchhhh of girls you’ve spoken with. Just one you really liked. Ideally one from the most recent round. If you aren’t feeling bold, just go follow the sorority insta and if they post anything like it.

If they like you, they’ll geek out about you following them and you’ll probably be more likely to be invited back. If they were iffy about you, you following them may make them feel a tiny bit weird? But either way, it’ll be very complimentary. Just make sure not to follow more than one or two girls. Ideally, if you spoke with two girls on the same day follow them. But that means they’re in the same bump group and they’ll probably notice if you followed both of them and then go tell rush team.

Following chapter social media yes, though I don’t know if they look at that. You can’t directly contact anyone in the chapter or have anyone else contact them because of silence though! Your rho gammas will really be able to help you since they know more of your situation and are there to give advice like this. No matter what stick it out until pref because houses might surprise you in the last round, but try not to beat yourself up about it too much! It’s harder to move on when you keep going over all of the “what ifs”

Silence doesn’t fall on the pnm to uphold it and you’d never get in trouble even if you litterally texted an active. Actives don’t tell on pnms who try contact them.. ever. Follow them on insta.
