So this is recruitment at A&M or any big school. Just because you like a chapter and have good conversations doesn’t guarantee a thing. There are just too many PNMs and some houses cut big. My advice is give the houses that invited you back another look. Give it a chance they will probably surprise you.

It definitely hurts to get from the houses you felt like you had a good connection with but it’s worth it to stick it out! Cuts are rarely personal and mostly just because it’s hard to make a real connection with such a short conversation. Go into your parties with an open mind and good luck finding your home!

Also remember that more than just the couple of actives you’ve met are part of the decision process. The chapters are also taking your recs, resume, etc into consideration. The girls you connected with in might have adored you but if other PNM’s had more “yes” votes then, they move on and you get cut. It doesn’t mean those girls voted against you.

Each house is working to build a diverse new member class with women who will help shape all aspects of the chapter - academics, leadership, creativity, volunteer minded, socially, and from different backgrounds and areas. The houses that keep inviting you back see you as a pnm who could fit into their sisterhood & contribute to their chapter’s successes.

And tbh, nothing is “mutual” unless more chapters invite you back then the max # of patties in the next round. Only then do your preferences come into play. Until Pref round when your rankings will be considered first if your 1st choice has ranked you high enough to get a bid.
