sorority and a job?

by: ---

Hi!! I am going to rush in the fall but I am also going to have to get a job starting my second semester to help pay for dues, college, a social life, etc. and I was just wondering if it is common for people in greek life to have jobs. I know greek life is a big time commitment but I'd really like to rush. If anyone could let me know if they're in a similar situation or provide some helpful advice, that'd be amazing!! And please if you're thinking in your head "if you have to work a job to afford it then don't bother rushing", just keep it to yourself, I've heard it all before. Thanks!!

second semester is a lot less busy than first semester! having a job isn’t weird at all! I say go for it and rush

i had a job and i have multiple friends that do too. more girls than you would think pay their own dues so don’t let that discourage you. i had to do it my first year and then my parents realized it wasn’t actually all parties. but it was perfectly doable and shouldn’t even be a factor. go for it

So many girls in Greek life have jobs it’s definitely not uncommon. I had a job on campus and it did not interfere with my sorority at all
