shut up adpi - you struggle just as much - no chapter at LSU, Oklahoma - and you are THE bottom at TCU, A&M, Tech

They're asking about APhi as in Alpha Phi. Get it right. Good Grief.

Texas is a tough state for sororities to start up in. Pi Phi and Kappa started chapters at UT in 1902 and Theta and XO came a few years later. Pi Phi, Kappa, Theta, XO, DDD, and lesser extent ZTA all put chapters at the top Texas schools first so has been more difficult for other sororities to be as established and well known.

Gamma Phi has had a long standing chapter at SMU where ZTA and ADPi both folded, and they have done a great job getting established at TCU. Girls from the Midwest and West Coast all think of Gamma Phi as a strong sorority, and TCU and SMU have girls from all over the US.

KD had a chapter at UT and it folded and after many years it came back in the 1980s. KD did not go back into Texas until the 1980s and will have a hard time competing with the traditional Texas sororities. KD folded at Baylor just a few years ago.

Alpha Phi is a very strong East Coast, Midwest, and West Coast sorority. Very strong in Arizona too. They have a long standing chapter at UT that has done better in the last few years.

This pretty well sums it up. I think most Texas sorority girls would be absolutely shocked at how much stronger APhi and GPhi are in most other parts of the country compared to the groups they see as "top" here.

KD, ADPi and Phi Mu are kind of weird because they're strong almost everywhere in the South except Texas. Texas is a bit of an anomaly in Southern Greek systems, cause while some of the strong Southern sororities like Kappa, DDD, XO and Zeta do well here, a lot of the others don't. Alpha Phi and Gamma Phi are big nationally but pretty weak in the South, so Alpha Phi's relative success in the state is actually surprising.

Texas is very Southern in that traditional rankings don't really change.
You have the Big 6--KKG, KAT, PiPhi, DDD, XO, ZTA
and the Core 4-DG, AXO, ADPi, APhi
these tend to be the strongest groups throughout Texas and Nationally too

Gamma Phi has closed alot of chapters in Texas and the ones that survive are unfortunately bottom tier. They are very strong in the midwest though

KD is so strong in the South, it's surprising to see them not at strong in Texas. They have closed most of their chapters in Texas and are bottom at the remaining chapters

Alpha Phi closed most of their chapters in Texas but is still middle tier at Tech and UT

DG, ADPi and AXO are a mixed bag all over the state but usually middle to bottom and top at smaller schools

No such thing as a "core four" just some stupid thing the lower tier sororities at Ut came up with because they hate that they aren't in the "big six." Several sororities in your "strongest groups" comment aren't strong nationally at all in comparison to others.

Gamma Phi closed a few chapters in Texas many years ago but has been extremely successful in expansion efforts here in in the past decade. Someone above said that people in the south and Texas would be shocked about how strong Gamma Phi and Alpha Phi are outside of the south, and I would strongly second that, huge schools where people wouldn't even know who groups like DDD, ZTA or ADPi are.

Tcu, smu and a&m are the only descent schools that gamma phi is at...and bottim tier at those. They don't even have a chapter at ut or tech. I like my gamma phi friends but don't come on here saying you're strong in Texas and bashing other groups. Southern sororities will always be the strongest because that's where the strongest greek systems are.

KD and ADPi are strong at many of the SEC schools. GPhi strong in north, Midwest and west.

All sororities have chapters that are not as strong as others or are regional.

At A&M all the sororities are getting stronger... Now the fraternities need to follow suit.
