international student and rec letter

Hi guys! I'm an international student who will be attending Texas a&m next year. I would really like to rush,but I know that rec letters are very important. There are no sororities in my country and I know nobody who was in a sorority. Will I still be able to rush and possibly get a bid?

Do you go to an international school, or, an American school? I graduated high school overseas and was able to secure rec letters from some teachers at my school, as well as from friend's mothers and their connections. I didn't get a rec for every house, but I was able to get quite a few. It's a little tougher, but it can be done.

I go to a private school,but I don't even think people know what a sorority is here. I live in India btw.

You should look up some contacts for local Panhellenic groups. You could search for college station Panhellenic or big cities like Austin and Dallas. They'd be able to write you one after some discussion and a look at your resume.
