"dirty rushing"
by: :-)Is it true that seniors going into 2021 aren't a allowed to follow any TAMU sorority girls? A bunch of girls in the rushing gm are making a big deal out of this calling it "dirty rushing". They say that if you're following any sorority pages you'll be in a blacklist or something. Just wanted some clarification on this :-)

For the most official info, see page 19 from the latest recruitment guide referring to "silence." issuu.com/tamupanhellenic/docs/2016_recruitment_guide/1?ff=t rue&e=18037456/37447358
Essentially, you as a senior are allowed to follow/like/chat with any sorority woman or sorority social media page until silence, which begins a week before recruitment begins. After May 1 however, you're technically not supposed to reach out and make new contact with individual sorority members, though you are very encouraged to keep up with the overall sorority's social media accounts.
I honestly can't see how following sorority pages can blacklist you, unless you followed only half of the sororities and posted/said stuff like "omg I wish I were a Phi MU, they're so cool!" But that would be totally stupid. And not dirty rushing, b/c dirty rushing is something that occurs on the sorority's end. DR is like if a sorority's members contact you during Silence and try to talk to you or if they promise you a bid. Also, it's kind of weird at this school for PNMs to add actives, so just friend/follow the sorority's chapter social media accounts, and that'll alert the actives that you're interested.

hi just follow who u want and do what u want just nothing stupid- its the girls who are actually rushing you who could get in trouble, not you!! just make sure you don't talk to a girl in a sorority that you've never met before about rush after may 1st- best of luck to you and all the girls in the gm during recruitment!! :)
