letters

I plan on rushing, and was wondering if letters are necessary to get into a sorority. Unfortunately, I don't really know anybody from a TAMU sorority and was wondering if it would hurt my chances of getting into a sorority.

some sororities will definitely cut you just for not having recs. they don't have to be from a&m alums, it can be any alum!

Anyone can get recs, they show you how to do it so it's not a big deal!

1. Yes, you need recs. They are a national requirement to pledge for at least two chapters on campus.

2. Recs do not have to be from A&M alumnae. Any alumna of the sororities on campus, regardless of where they went to college, can write your rec. The best Recs are written by women who know you & your family the best so start asking your neighbors, your friends' mothers, your mom's friends, cousins, aunts, teachers or coaches, etc.
