drop or stay

by: ???

I went through recruitment and got adpi as my house. I like most of the girls I've talked to and I think most of my pledge class is cute but they have such a bad rep. Should I drop and try again or should I stay?

Yes, you should stay. If you like the girls, why wouldn't you? Who cares about what you think you know about "reps". ADPi is known for having really sweet, down to earth girls and truly has one of the best sisterhoods on campus.

Get to know the girls. Be honest with yourself. Do you get along with them, do their values and rules align with yours, and will you proudly carry your letters? If it is yes then definitely stay. If it's no, then leave. I got guilt-ed into staying in my sorority and honestly I shouldn't have.

This is good advice. No one can decide what is right for you is YOU.

Only you can answer if bonding with group can happen for you. If you can then stay.

Stay!! you ended up their for a reason, at least give it more than a week. Sisterhood is more important than reputation, but ADPi doesn't have a bad reputation.

Change their rep. It will only happen one person at a time.

5 years ago adpi might have had a bad reputation but since then they have gotten great girls who are sweet and pretty and down to earth. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being an adpi.

Make contributions to your chapter. Be a part of their growth as they are a good chapter and improving every day.

They don't have a bad rep. Gossip is just mean spirited people that don't have enough better things to do. You be different -- contribute to the positive Greek life. Get on Panhellenic. Be a leader. You will be rewarded 10 times over if you take the happy road.

This is all true as long as she enjoys the members. A rep is not what you remember. It will be the friendships. If that isn't working then check your attitude but if it still isn't working you might want to think about trying to find a home during the more closed spring rush. This isn't publicized and not all houses will offer it. You will need to spend this semester getting to know people and let them know you would be interested in a house if they have openings. Good luck with your decision.

If you like the girls please stay. I got a "top house" and the sisterhood is no where near as good as it would've been if I went for one of the more down to earth houses. Reputation means nothing if you don't like your sisters.

If you don't like the other girls then you should leave. But realize you probably won't be a Greek. If you like them stay.

If you have a open mind, you can experience fellowship, grow in leadership and make some of the closest friends you will ever have in any house at TCU. Stay with the girls who wanted to offer these gifts to you.
