getting a bid?
by: freshieHi! I'm an incoming freshman and honestly rush is beginning to slowly stress me out! Is it common for girls to not get bids? I'm pretty confident in how I'm going to handle myself during rush and am keen on impressing all the girls but I still can't help but be really nervous! :(

1. Only release a sorority if you have to.
2. Attend every single party that you are invited to - even if you get invited back to a group that you released earlier.
3. Go to every preference party that you are invited to. You blow off one of those parties and you may lose your chance at any bid.
4. Expect a bid on bid day.
If you give the process everything by maximizing the number of parties you attend and skipping nothing, the process should reward you with a bid.

The numbers of girls who aren’t invited back to any house is relatively small. Most of the girls who started in recruitment and don’t go through bid day actually drop themselves. It’s hard to say how many get dropped from everywhere because most of the time people drop at the same time. Stick to being yourself and there is a 99% chance that there is a house for you. TCU has complied with the NPC new regulation to change preference from 3 chapters to 2 for you to go to. This means all of the rounds will have less chapters for you to go to. This may seem like it will lower your chances, but it is made so you will maximize your options during preference and give you a higher chance of getting a bid than before.
Also as a little note you are required to go to every party you are invited to!

Also list every sorority you pref at on your card, and you are guaranteed to receive a bid to one of those sororities.
Keep an open mind and remember you aren't better than any of the sororities. Be polite and kind to all members at all houses. If you are rude, we will hear about it. No one wants that rude girl.
