stereotypes of the sororities?
by: KatieCaliHey everyone! I'm attending TCU in the fall (class of 2017). I'm coming from California, and don't know too many people at tcu so I want to rush. I was wondering about the stereotype of each house? I don't care about the rankings (although it would be amazing to be in a top house), I'd rather like a little information about the reputations/stereotypes :)

really the best thing to do is get to know each house during rush and make your decisions then. its pretty easy to tell which ones you fit into once you're in rush and have been to the house a couple times. but some REALLY generic stereotypes are:
tri delt: rich texas girls
theta: smart, sweet girls
chi o: perfect people- smart, party, etc
pi phi: party hard
g phi: kind of a mixed group. nice girls, quirky!
ao pi: new house, hard to tell. the girls i know are great though!
axo: mixed group of funny, nice girls
zeta: pretty girls, go hard
ad pi: acclectic group
DG: easy DG (although i know a few girls that are DGs and totally the opposite)
SK: kinda random, kinda uppity
KKG: kinda stuck up, party hard
but there are always girls that are an exception to the stereotype!

ChiO - widely respected but very diverse in the type of girls; from Bible beaters to big partiers
Theta - conservative and known for being more reserved and smart
PiPhi - pretty and go hard
Zeta - beautiful and party hard too but more involved than pi phi
DG - easy dg but not this pledge class.... idk what happened there; falling in the ranks
KKG - party party party
TriDelt - rich texans
SK - types of girls are all over the place; don't seem to have as strong a sisterhood as others
GPhi - quirky girls
AXO - same as GPhi
AOPi - too hard to tell now because they're so new
ADPi - well...

There are 3 houses known for grades. They place 1, 2, 3 each semester. Yet, the comments above all describe two of those houses as "smart" and not the other one. Just thought it was interesting and worth mentioning. I'd say that the people responding to this kind of question are ones that have an agenda or are worried about keeping their ranking.
