Welcome to OU Greek! We're so excited to get to meet you soon! I have several pieces of advice for you.

First, all houses want girls that are able to carry on a conversation and look "put together." Your social media should be clean, grades good, recs in order, etc. Yes, knowing girls in the house is great!

Now, as to your other questions. It sounds like you've been on this site too much. You don't want to re-do your personality for each house based on this site or anything else. BE YOURSELF! You will end up in the house where you'll fit in best. Forget about "top houses" and "decent houses." All our houses are good, especially the ones that get dragged over the coals on this site. You will be released by some houses and won't know why. Maybe later you'll see that you wouldn't have fit in that house. It doesn't matter. Just keep smiling, be genuinely interested in what people have to say, and NEVER NEVER NEVER dismiss a house as being below you. The truth is that the only house you can really fit in is the one that gives you a bid.

And lastly, one piece of advice about this site. You will see so many things that are not true. There are threads on how hard certain houses are to get. It's fake. There are many threads about how bad a certain house is. They're fake. My advice is to get off here. It can't help and will most certainly hurt your recruitment.

Also, don't talk about partying, boys, religion or money. You'll see a thread on here about how some houses have all wealthy girls from influential families. Maybe it's a trap to see if that house can trick people into blowing their chances at other houses by explaining to the girl rushing them that they're from an influential family and have big bucks. Really, any house that's interested will already know which girls like that they are looking at.
