I was looking through sorority girls on Instagram just to get an idea of what to wear for each round and all I've seen is lily or plain skater dresses. Would it be ok if I wore something along the lines of a nice free people/urban dress or should I just play it safe with a plain a-line?

If you rock a sundress or a romper go for it! But OMG make sure that your body parts stay in the outfit!!!
Don't be the girl who looks like she could flash you if she sat down and be careful of nip slips!!!

Try a shift dress! They're casual yet very elegant at the same time, I LIVE in shift dresses. Try reddressboutique.com uoionline.com shopofftheracks.com shoplaurenjames.com shopriffraff.com or Dillards!

Oh! And I'll be wearing a Lilly Pulitzer shift sometime during rush (Its too early to completely decide what day) but its a light blue knit fabric with a zipper in the front. :)

Nice advice in your first comment but honestly why did you feel the need to tell all of greek rank exactly which lilly dress you'll be wearing during rush?

Probably the same girl who put her email address in a post so her family and friends could help any pnm who still needed recs.

Like she thinks we are all friends and letting us know who she is will somehow help her.

Connections you make on Greekrank do not count as being friends with sorority actives!

Geez would it kill you to not be so harsh? I'm just trying to help by giving her an idea of what I would wear. Why does everyone have to always be so negative, lighten up.

While the tone above is kinda harsh (anonymous doesn't mean c u n ty) the message is truth. For most pnms the process of rush is elimination. Social media can put you in that culled-category. This site is poisonous. Sure. There's good info from time and time. And it can be wickedly funny. But its also a place where idiots try to bash each other. Or where Mom's think they glean some special info. Or where alumni lurk looking for weaknesses to exploit. For fashion tips look at pics from last years rush. Wear something you like that's consistent with what you see in those pics. Stay off this (and other) sites. (At least don't post -- and FFS don't out yourself if you do...) And just breathe. It'll be over before you know it.

It's okay, she's just excited for rush, it happens to everyone. Don't stress too much, there will be other girls wearing that same dress since it's lilly. Just in the future try not to be overly specific. Most chapters don't care, there's 1800 girls going through rush next year, it would be ridiculous to keep up with everyone going through this website. Just be the best, classiest version of you. you'll have a couple of months when you get here to figure out your outfit even if you feel like it's not what other PNMs are going to wear.

would it be acceptable to get a cute dress from shophopes.com for any of the parties?? i know they aren't the most expensive boutique by any means but they definitely have some cute outfits that would be unique. for pref. i have a really nice dress already but just wanting to know if brands truly mean everything

I've never heard of that site until now.. but after looking through some of their clothes I would say that they definitely don't have anything appropriate for rush. Most of their stuff is too casual.. try looking at boutiques that have brands a little more classier and dressier.

please don't order anything from there. you can get much cuter stuff at a local boutique that has much higher quality. almost half of that website's clothes are polyester.... not classy.

what "style" of romper could be appropriate? (Asking because I know rompers tend to be very casual)
