orientation 1-2/7

by: PNM

Is there anything going on during orientation? I want to try and take some time to actually meet a few people from each sorority before the chaos of rush. :)

Don't plan on that happening. Most sorority actives are away for the summer and those still in Oxford are taking classes.

Most actives cant really talk to us during this period now because rush is coming up. It would be considered dirty rushing and actives could get a fine for it.

PNM, please don't try to tell everyone what the rush rules are, because you apparently don't know them. We are allowed to talk to every PNM coming through if we have mutual friends with them. We can take PNMs out, ask them to hang out with us, and pretty much make contact with ANYONE. This stands up until Greek Convocation which takes place a week before the beginning of rush and it's called "Dead Week" because no active and PNM are allowed to have contact outside of class required interaction.

People like you are such a terrible represenation of the greek community at Ole Miss. Obviously, i am a potential NEW member. I dont know all the ropes and I have a lot left to learn. Instead of being so rude, you could have simply corrected me. I was only saying what I had been told by others. It was a mistake. No need to get your claws out... Is that the only way you can make yourself feel bigger?

Wow, PNM!!! Cool down and don't get your panties in a wad.

You can't just come on this site and think that you know everything about rush. You have no idea what the rules are, so I would not recommend you telling everyone that you are all knowing. I'm not trying to be mean, but this attitude is not cute.

@HAHA just corrected you. I'm sorry you took it the wrong way, but that's how it works. You just said that you don't know the ropes and you have a lot to learn, then just sit back and relax. PNMs don't get fined, we do. So when we can't talk to you about rush, we will say "Can't tell you."

The active above has corrected you. No claws were out. But cute way to try to make a girl feel inferior to a freaking PNM.

Is this PNM serious? "Is that the only way you can feel bigger?"
Obviously, you are butt hurt because an active just told you what the deal was and you hate that she was right and how far off you were. How did that make her feel bigger?
PNM, you're not in charge here. You don't know the rules yet and you shouldn't have any say in who an active can hang out with (until dead week of course).
Why does @HAHA have so many down votes? Because she actually told a PNM how things work? Here's an other thing she should've mentioned: Know-it-alls get cut. It's not cute that you think you know what's going on, it's not cute how you acted because you were wrong and you know it

Orientation is not the best place to meet actives!

You might meet one or two actives, but believe me, no meaningful connections will be made.

Orientation is the time to meet friends in your own class. This school feels pretty big sometimes and it's best to get to know girls who you will be rushing with. You might trade ideas for outfits, go to each other's dorm so you could share a curing iron, or even go out together when you move in! This is not the time to hunt down actives who are busy with class.

If you meet an active, it won't be a good connection. I promise you will have more fun hanging out with freshman!

I came to orientation in early June and I met several actives. We have kept in touch all summer.
