How often do girls get bids from the top or mid tier houses with zero connections?
Also, can you become someones rush crush when you move into school or if you have actives in your classes? I know that interaction between actives and pnms is extermely limited during this time. however, if you really hit it off with someone, can you go see a movie with her or add each other on fb?

I am a junior in a top house. In order for a pnm to receive a bid, both the alumni and the actives have to want her. Not just want her, but love her. We parade our top girls around and have them meet as many of our sisters as we can introduce them to. We contact or meet with our alumni and our alumni advisors and convince them that our favorites are perfect for our house.
We beg our sisters to vote for them. We create posters with their faces on them and hang them all over our house. It's not easy to get our favorite pnms in.
I have a favorite girl going through next year and I'm afraid to rush her too hard, because I'm afraid she won't receive enough votes and both her feelings and mine will be hurt. Even if all my friends love her, the alumni may not and she will be cut from our list.
Nothing guarantees a girl a bid, but without someone actually campaigning for her, it's almost impossible.
By the time we meet you in class, it's already too late for most girls.
The exception would be a truly remarkable girl. We would have to go to major bat for you, but occasionally it happens.

It's a long shot. Every year it happens, but it's rare.
Don't get discouraged! There are still plenty of sororities who will give you a bid without connections.
They will probably be nicer to you snywsy, as their lists haven't already been made.

Girls will be mean to me because I have no connections?
Personally, im gonna give every house 110%
I personally think I have a lot to bring to the table and I have to show them that.

Girls are not going to be mean to you during rush!
We are just as excited to meet you as you are excited to meet us. But we are also tired! You have no idea how tiring Rush is! We go to classes, then rush rounds, then we stay up late into the night voting, long after you leave. Then after voting, somewhere around midnight or later, we still have to do homework.
If we don't know you, wemight not be as excited to rush you are some of the other girls the alumni are telling us to rush hard.

IDK about other girls, but I am too excited for rush to treat any PNM with disrespect. I'm excited to meet each girl and see if she could even be my little.
BUT... With all the girls coming through, I'd really remember the girl I know from my hometown and I really want her to be my sister. It's just that I know her and love her already, but that doesn't mean that I or anyone will not love you!
