are they alike?

I'm coming from Texas so the only schools that I'm familiar with how rush works would be Texas schools.
At UT, if you want a bid from one of the top three sororities you have to have connections. Most girls in these top sororities come from private schools and expensive zip codes. Most have attended fancy summer camps every year and know half the actives in each sorority before rush even begins.
Is this the same with the top three sororities at ole miss?
#3 by: Connections
Now you need connections for most houses. I'm not talking about just the top, I mean top, middle, and some bottom.
Top (DDD, XO, KD)- You'll definitely need connections to get far in this house.
Lower Top (DG, Phi Mu, Kappa)- Connections are greatly desired but if they fall in love with you during rush you'll slide onto the bid list.
Mid (AOPi, Pi Phi)- Connections are needed but you can get a bid without one. HOWEVER, these houses are rising and they are getting pickier. If you don't have connections, you better have a good GPA and a great personality.
Bottom (Theta, ADPi)- No connections are really required. But, since Alpha Phi is coming Theta might get pickier.
There are about 1,800 girls going through rush this year and only 11 (yes I'll include Alpha Phi) houses. Most houses want to have their new PC be around 150-170 girls (based on last year).

Pretty sure the op wasn't asking for a comparison between the schools.
Only a comparison of the dynamics of a top tier sorority.
No need to insult an entire school for no apparent reason!
