I have the same question!!! what does this mean/etc

Yes, we invite girls we are interested in, but we also invite their friends we are not sure about.

We also invite girls we love, hoping to convince our friends in out sorority to love them too we are basically gathering votes for them.

I didn't get invited to any parties, but still had a very good rush. Friends of mine got invited to lots of parties and didn't have as good a rush.

There are too many factors to consider and nothing should be read into these parties.

This is fairly new. Two years ago actives were not allowed to interact with pnm prior to rush in the fall. It was considered a rush violation. Too much potential for dirty rushing.

I have no idea why they allow it now.

I'm already planning on asking a bunch of girls out when I get to school. I want to get to know a lot of girls before rush because I want to see what kind of girls are rushing. There is a fine line between dirty rushing and just hanging out. PNMs, just because you went to a few parties with a sorority girl it doesn't mean you'll get a bid from that sorority. Also, even if you never got invited to a party or to hang out with actives it won't mean that you will not get a bid. :) It might mean we already love you (who knows? rush is weird).
There is a silent week. The week before rush you will not be able to hang out with actives unless it's for school. Now I get how @New is confused about this, but we can't help ourselves. We want to meet new girls and I really want to party with my friend who's rushing and her friends (why not? the more the merrier!)
