curious
by: activeif someone prefs one house over the other - both houses put her on the bid list - if this other house puts them higher on their list, then does the pmn get her second choice?

here's how it works.
Let's say you pref "xyz" sorority and "abc" sorority. You like "xyz" better, so you put them first on your pref card.
Both "xyz" and "abc" will already know by pref night that quota will be say... 180. They will each have their top list of 180 girls. They will also each have a secondary list that will be ordered 181 - how many girls they preffed.
If you are on "xyz"s first list, then it's a match and you will get a bid from "xyz". If you are on their second list, you will only get a bid from them if all the girls ahead of you chose another house and you move up the list.
If "xyz" reaches quota before you get a bid, then Panhellenic will look at "abc's" list. If "abc" hasn't already met quota, and you are high enough on their list, you will get a bid to "abc".
If both sororities meet quota before your name is reached, you will either go bidless (unlikely) or one sorority will agree to take you on as a quota addition. Sororities have the option of taking quota additions or not, depending on the sorority.

Nobody is guaranteed a bid! Period! Ole miss tries really really hard to place all pnm's but every now and then someone inevitably does get dropped after pref.
Could be that a pnm acts insulting or disinterested in one of the houses causing that house to drop her. The other house might not have her high enough on their bid list to offer her a bid. This is just an example, but stranger things have happened!

Do you thing with alpha phi coming next year that there will be quota additions, or will morel girls go bid-less so alpha phi has more to chose from.
