When someone asks what your favorite house is or what house you want, does it sound bad to say, "I'm not really sure. I'm going in with an open mind"
Also, what did everyone else say when the houses asked you why you'd be an asset or why you wanted to apart of their sorority?

It depends. Who is asking the question? If it's a sorority active, say you love all the houses and can't wait to find out more about them during rush. Saying you're going to keep an open mind is good. If it's a friend or an adult, feel free to be honest with who is your favorite. But I'd always include that you're open to any house and can't wait to go through rush and learn more.
I've never heard of girls in sororities asking this. Usually we're tryibg to impress PNMs. I might ask you what you did in high school and what you're passionate about, but I wont ask you why you'd make a good "insert sorority name".

NEVER NEVER say what house you are interested in! EVER to anyone! Not even an adult! Our alumni gossip more than our actives do!
Old trick of ours is to have fraternity guys ask you. Don't even let them know which house you are favoring!
This is the number one reason great girls get cut! If we think you are interested in another house, we will cut you to make room for another girl who is interested!
Pref night is the ONLY night you may want to "hint" your preference.

thank you! I am transferring, so going into rush with an open is the only way I will be successful. I have always dreamed of being in sorority, so I will be so happy with any bid! If I don't get any, I can always colonize with Alpha Phi as well :)
