Are there any perks to pledging a top tier sorority?

in all actuality, most girls who pledge top tier do not like it. they aren't as comfortable and the older girls aren't as welcoming. if you're not from MS then this is ten times worse as most of the girls in your pledge class will already know each other and many will have gone to high school together. so to answer your question, no. there are no perks. quit thinking about basing your decision on ranks. you may even be dropped from these houses.

Is a matter of opinion. Some girls will get on here and bash the top tiers while others will act like being in a top tier house makes a huge difference. I personally do think there are perks. I have lots of friends in lower tier houses. They love their sororities but always make remarks like "I loved ... during rush but they cut me." I think most of the top houses are more respected on campus. They're harder to get into and it's more of an accomplishment to say "I rushed with few connections and got into a top house." Another perk is that guys in top fraternities tend to be shallow and want to socialize with girls in top houses. You'll get invited to more formals and date parties if you're in a top house rather than a bottom one IN GENERAL. This is just how it is. Boys will want to go to your date parties and formals. Good frats will invite your sorority over to pregames before your swaps because they want to hang out with good sororities. I know lots of girls in bottom houses who were sad on bid day and embarrassed to wear their letters around campus at first. I am proud to wear mine. Obviously this is just my opinion and I haven't talked to every girl in every sorority to get there's but in general I think there are many perks to being in a top house.

As if it really matters what tier you are in @This! To be honest @haha is right! I'm considered middle/bottom tier and I have a lot of friends in top tiers!! It's all about how you connect with the girls! I choose my sorority over a top sorority from the beginning based on where I thought I would fit in

You get as much perks in a bottom house as you get in a top house. Frat's won't just ask a girl to formal just because she's top tier. You people seem to forget that people have to like you to invite you places, the house you're in doesn't matter to that extent unless the frats are shallow (who needs them, then?).
From what I see, the perks of being in a top house is the same as being in a bottom house. Whether frats like you or not is based on you as an individual. A guy who's into you won't just turn away when he finds out you're a Theta or ADPi.
PNM's need to remember that the house doesn't make the girl. Don't pick on bottom tier houses because they're "bottom tier". Let me tell you this, no one cares that much about tiers after rush. If guys don't invite you to formal, don't blame the house.

The perks of being in a top tier house is that you get everything for free. We get everything on a silver platter, we win every event, and professors give us an extra curve in class.
Seriously?? Perks?? The only perk you get in a top house is that you got in the house you love!! There are no special perks that depend on which tier you're in!

Bid day gifts! Too tier girls get over the top bid day gifts! Lower tier girls do not get spoiled the same way.

Call me superficial, but it's amazing to get back to your dorm after bid day and see your bed overflowing with goodies.

My roommate got a bid to a lower tier house and she didn't get ANYTHING. I Actually felt so bad for her that I went out the next day and bought her a few things with her sorority letters on them.

Most lower tier houses get a ton of stuff. I'm upper bottom and I got so much stuff!!

Tons of stuff does not mean a bag and a few shirts. Tons of stuff means you can't see your bed under all your bid day gifts. Lower tier houses don't get the same stuff! Sorry, but it's true!

yea, we like to spend our money on other things/keep the due reasonable for our members. But besides bid days and rep they're all pretty much the same in perks.
