do i stand any chance at all of a bid? (oos)

by: AwkwardNortherner

Hello! I'm an incoming freshman at Ole Miss and I can't wait for recruitment! I've always wanted to be part of a big sisterhood. A little about myself- I"m a cheerleader, 3.7 unweighted average, lots of clubs in high school, and I'm a Provost Scholar. I'm super social and very outgoing, and believe I have the "desirable" traits to be in a sorority. However, there is one small issue. While I was raised with southern manners, I was born in the midwest and moved to New England just before high school. I know the common stereotype is that we're all cold and rude, but I'm not really like that. With good recs, would I stand a chance of getting a bid? Thanks everyone

Of course you have an outstanding chance to get a bid with those qualificiations. Get your recs to EVERY chapter to help give yourself the most options and good luck!

You'll get a bid. Maybe not to your top choice, but if you keep your options open, you shouldn't have any problems.

You probably won't get asked back to the really southern houses (tri delt, chi o, kd, dg) but you could definitely go to kappa, phi mu, aopi, or pi phi! Honestly, I think you would be happier in one of those houses anyway because they have so many more out of state & northern girls. But always remember to keep your options open!!
