what are the differences between phi mu and dg?

by: pnm15

I'll be rushing in the fall and I have met a lot of girls while visiting campus over these past few months. Phi Mu and Delta Gamma have both stood out to me and I was just wondering how each of them are compared to the other (like personality and types of girls).

I personally think Phi Mu's are more girly and DG's are so not much. I also think that Phi Mu is a bit more relaxed and DG is more serious.

Phi mu is a little more of a girly, less serious and more about having fun sorority. They take more oos girls than DG does.

DG is known for high grades and lots of involvement. They win most events or come in second place. But they do take things pretty serious and want all of their members to get involved in some way. Lots of history at ole miss.

Both are great sororities with lots of great girls. You should just go through rush and see how you feel in each house before deciding.

Phi Mu's are typically feminine, sweet, and pretty. They aren't known for highest GPA or winning competitions, but they're definitely well-liked on campus. Just a good, middle tier sorority with fun swaps and date parties.

DG is known for having competetive girls. They did have highest gpa last year and always either win or come close to winning theta encore and charity bowl. I think they come off a little pretentious but this sorority has a lot to offer girls

Phi Mu is more focused on looks and fun. DG is more focused on grades, involvement, and legacy/tradition (DG national considers Alpha Psi their mother chapter). Both are terrific houses full of classy, accomplished women, and you'd be lucky to get a bid to either.

can decide! Both are well respected sororities on campus and by their individual national organizations. They both have a lot to offer. They also both have weaknesses, just like every other sorority. You need to make all judgements about where you fit best based on who you meet and rush. Everyone has a different personality and people responding might really clique or really hate the girls they know in ANY house, and that's not an accurate representation of where YOU would feel most comfortable! Good luck!
