tiers

by: Curious

Can anyone clarify with me what kind of girl would be in a bottoms tier sorority, what kind of girl would be in a middle tier sorority, and what kind would be in a top? As in during Rush what is the top tier sorority going to be looking for. Also, do tiers matter? Are girls judged by which sororuty they are in?

Literally the only difference between the top and middle tier girls are going to be connections.

Bottom tier girls vary so much, you can't really define them.

Ask yourself, at your high school, where do you stand in your class rankings? What clique are you in?

Your place at ole miss will be similar. We can't coach you into being something you are not.

Tiers don't matter. They really don't. However, some girls take them seriously (even though they don't matter). Keep in mind, tiers don't make a sorority "a joke". If all of our sororities were on different campuses, they would be top.

I totally agree with @Ummm. We cannot teach you to be something you're not. If you end up in a "top house" by pretending, you'll be miserable when you could have been yourself, got a bid from a "bottom/middle" house, and have the best friends you will ever have because you found something in common with those girls.

The tiers kind of matter, but not really enough for it to make a huge difference on campus. No one is judged for their sorority because they're all good here.

Top tier is typically southern girls who had a lot of connections going into rush. What they look for during rush is how many friends you have there already.

Middle tier is where most of the girls who aren't from Mississippi, Texas, or some other southern state end up. Honestly, a lot of these girls would be in top houses if they knew more people. The only real difference between top and middle is connections.

Bottom is a mix. A lot of girls in Theta/Adpi didn't plan on rushing and therefore had no recs or friends in sororities. They were cut automatically because of this, there's nothing wrong with them. Then, you get the girls who were blacklisted by the other houses for some reason. This is a fairly small percentage though.
