fraternity rush

by: Dubya43

I read online that Ole Miss has a delayed formal rush. How does this work? Do you go to a different house each round or several different houses per round? When I find a house I'm interested in pledging do I discuss this with an active to express my interest? Also, how long is a typical pledge period? It's simple to find information about sorority rush, but not so much about fraternity rush. Thanks

This just means that rush isn't until the end of September. It gives you time to meet some actives and for them to get an idea of who they want. DO NOT just say you want to be in their house when you're talking to them. If you go to their parties and can tell they like you or they give you a verbal bid, you have a good shot. Don't get your hopes up about this though, frats are known for giving verbal bids and not following through. Keep your options open! Also, a the pledge period typically lasts from rush until mid-November for most of the houses, but others wait until after winter break so they can see your fall semester grades.
