daddy's job on a resume???

by: PNM

Okay so I am getting my resume and recs together. I'm not trying to sound rude but is putting your parent's major and job on the resume really a thing? It's not that my parents don't have good jobs, they actually have very good jobs, I just think it is very tacky to flaunt such a thing. BUT, if everyone does it I'm definitely down to do it, please give advice! xoxoxo

Some will say its tacky to include your parents occupation, but girls have been doing it forever. Traditionally sororities want to make sure girls can afford the dues and fees. By knowing what your parents do, it helps. If it makes you uncomfortable then leave it off. I've seen it done both ways.

I've never seen anyone include their parents majors.

The south is the poorest region of the country, so just make it known that you can afford dues.

It's absolutely not necessary. I've seen it both ways and honestly, houses aren't going to notice either way. That's not what gets you a bid. I'd love to have you in my house seeing as you don't think that's the most important thing.
