I am really outgoing and fun once you get to know me but I'm just one of those people who is shy at first when I don't know somebody. I live in MS and my mom was in a sorority at Ole Miss so I know she can get me some connections, but I don't really have any yet. Any advice on what to say or do and how to get to know some of these girls without being awkward?

Do you know any girls from high school that attend Ole Miss? Or are in a sorority? Try and reach out to the friends from high school and let them know you are attending in the fall. It would be great to come and visit to connect with some girls and attend some spring parties!

do you think you could practice being more outgoing? when you go places, just try to get out of your comfort zone and introduce yourself to new people first. when you first come to school in the fall, you will have plenty of opportunities to practice this. what sorority was your mom in? do you know if the alum have a big pull?

You are going to have to work on coming out of your shell. Your mom can probably get you a bid to her sorority, but unless you are outgoing, making friends and fitting in are hard! With pledge classes having well over a hundred girls, you will be lost in the crowd.

Get recs and letters of support for every sorority on campus. don't put all of your eggs in legacy basket.
