Where are you from? Southern girls always do best during rush. Are you a legacy? Do you have any alumni or in house connections? What is your GPA, hs activities, and community service like? These things all play a factor. Popularity is important, because sororiyies will start to stalk you and want to see that you're well-liked. But it isn't the only thing that matters.

i'm from Ohio, captain of my soccer team, very involved with my school but I am not a legacy of a sorority at U of M. I pretty much randomly chose to go here without knowing anyone or with any connections

Was the same way. Get 2 rec letters for each house. They don't have to be from an ole miss alumni but that does pull more weight. Being from Ohio will hurt you. Top houses tend to want girls from the south. I only know of one or two girls from that far up north in my PC. You seem like a girl that'll stand out during rush and if you get on sororities radar's fast, you definitely have a shot at most houses. Contact any girls you know here and let them know you're rushing and excited about it. I love when pnms fb message me about rush

If I don't know anyone there, what's an easy alternative to connecting with members?
