theta?

by: kat

I am at another school right now but I am thinking of transferring to ole miss sometime next year. I'm in theta at my current school, which is by far the top sorority here but it seems to get quite a lot of flack at ole miss. At my school, were known to have the smartest, nicest girls who are leaders on campus and all the guys want to party with. Would it even be worth joining theta at ole miss? Would it be disappointing after my great experience at my current school?

You would love being a Theta in the Epsilon Zeta chapter! It's a great chapter that is filled with girls who love being a Theta! The main difference is that EZ is so young, just being chartered in 1978, compared to the other houses on campus. The chapter just doesn't have the deep, generational alumna support that most of the other chapters on campus do. They have to work a lot harder to get recognition and to be competitive. Girls in the chapter are involved in everything on campus. You can hit the ground running if you want to. :) You will love Ole Miss and Epsilon Zeta Thetas!

why are you forming an opinion based on gossip on a public website?

How about coming to meet the girls in the chapter, instead of asking on the WORST site for nasty behavior and comments? I seriously doubt you are being truthful anyway. Sick of seeing all the crap that is posted here. No, Theta is not a "top tier" chapter at Ole Miss. But they have a tight sisterhood and are less concerned with appearances than true worth.

sorry I didn't mean for this to come off so offensive... I was just asking because at my school, the bottom ranked sororities aren't involved and don't have good sisterhood so I was just wondering what I was getting myself into and if it was the same at ole miss. also, the greek rank for my current university is pretty accurate so didn't know people would be so catty and inaccurate on this site. my bad

theta here is known for being awkward, unattractive, and having the lowest gpa (adpi's was lower than theta's) but they seem nice otherwise

Hey! Im a Theta here at the University of Mississippi and I can safely say that if you're worried about us not having sisterhood, being involved or having swaps or whatever that you shouldn't. We love and cherish every member in our fraternity and that's actually what drew me to the Epsilon Zeta chapter: the unconditional love and support I saw and how it was a place of no judgement as we all work to become leading women. Furthermore, we have girls involved in all sorts of clubs and honor societies like the Rebellettes and the honors college. You also mentioned being worried about parties and going out? We got you covered there too! ;) We would love to have a sister potentially join us if you do end up transferring, so please feel free to contact one of us personally to ask more questions/come visit us so we can make you more comfortable through the transfer process even if you decide not to reaffiliate. This site is no means a reflection of any of the great houses at Ole Miss, so please look towards our tumblr, facebook and instagram as we keep them up to date for more reliable information. Hope to see you soon! TLAM :) (If you can, try to come down for a football game to get a feel for the school and see how it is! It's also an easy way to find the Theta tent and some EZ actives to get a better feeling about what would make you comfortable and if nothing else meet some tour guides for the game day/school year)

Listen to this! I'm a theta here too and I 100% agree. The other comments on this thread are just another example of people bashing theta for no reason. Also, don't think that bashing is something thetas get when they walk around campus...it's just a greek rank thing. I'm so proud of my letters, and aside from the negative out of date stereotype that this website perpetuates, thetas are great girls on campus!

Come and visit and form your own opinions. We are trying to answer your questions, but the ladies of theta only want you to hear what they think of themselves. They will discount what everybody else thinks.

However, they are involved around campus and out on one of the best philanthropy events out of all the houses.

Because of all the interest on ADPi the newest sorority on campus? They took a pretty big hot this year during rush, but still remain a viable house.

If you transfer to Ole Miss, you can be a Theta, or you can basically be an independent (unaffiliated). You will get to watch the Greeks, THETA INCLUDED, having all the fun, meals at the house, formals, date parties, activities, etc.

Even if Theta is not the "top tier" that you are used to, you can affiliate and appreciate the wonderful, diverse, close knit group of young women, or just watch and never have a "home" at Ole MIss. Those are your only 2 options. Your choice.
