by: WorriedMy GPA is low but I have lots of community service,connections, good recs and I guess you could say home town advantage (Mississippi) I'm just worried that it'll be hard to look over the GPA do girls in my situation still get bids from decent sororities?

A GPA below 3.0 will mean that you will be cut from many of the chapters. You might do better waiting a year to rush and work really hard to get great grades. Grades are the first and easiest cut for chapters to make. High school won't matter once you have a college GPA.
And get this "decent sorority" crap out of your damned head. ALL of the chapters at Ole Miss are "decent". If you are a grade risk, you should be willing to embrace any chapter that will take a risk with YOU.

Totally agree-and yes your grades will get you cut easily at most if not all houses! Don't think being from Mississippi will save you unless you have someone on the inside willing to stand up for you!

sorry, I completely over looked the word decent in front of sororities. All sororities at Ole Miss are great (decent) and there are great girls in all sororities. With over 350 active members in most, there is someone for everyone.
