rush for out of state

You will get cut from chi o, ddd, dg, and most likely kd. Im from out of state and ended up going back to kd all the way to pref. The only reason I did not choose them was because I felt more at home at another house. You will end up in a wonderful house no matter where you go and honestly I wouldn't want to be in a sorority with girls who won't be your sisters based on where you are from anyways.

The top four will most likely cut you (XO, KD, DDD, DG)

You won't be cut because you are from out of state, all the sororities has girls from other states, but you will get cut because you are from the north. Southern girls from out of state have a better chance at one of the top sororities.

Regardless if you are from Mississippi or out of state, without girls in the house fighting for you, you won't get a bid! There are plenty of girls from Mississippi who don't get bids. If we know them but they are grade or standards risks, we cut them! We also cut girls from Mississippi who don't have contacts inside the houses!

You will get cut XO, DDD, and DG for sure, but KD is trying to diversify and loose some of their sterotype of just being MS girls, or at least that's what they told me during skit round and seems to be true.

That's because the so called top 3 are definitely not real sisterhood sororities. They truly only want girls from Mississippi that were high school/hometown "it" girls because Most are there for appearances only and don't care one iota for each other.they want bragging rights that they got "so-n-so, whom they really don't know. They will never leave Mississippi or if they do its just to Tennessee....have no idea what the rest of the world is like. Will grow up to be alumnae that still throw the sign and wear the letters. Thus the cycle of ignorance.

Classy name first of all. Second, not one top 3 sorority has over half of a pledge class from oos, but sure honey whatever you wanna believe."not real" is 100% correct.

there are 2 phi mu's from washington state and thats miiileeeeeesssssssssss away.

I am a triple legacy from St.Louis. (my mom and my two older sisters) were DG's in Iowa. I know DG really looks at legacy's what are my chances?

You are going to be fine if everything on your resume is in order and you work REALLY hard to get recs from all of the sororities. If you do not know any girls in DDD, KD, XO and DG, don't worry about it. Get recs for them so you have a chance to get asked back in the early rounds but do not set your sights on any of these. You will not get one of them and I am sorry to be harsh, but what everyone is saying here is true. You WILL howevere, get in a sorority at Ole Miss if you have good grades, a good resume and work hard to stand out at rush. What you will end up with is a sorority of girls like you, you will wear greek letters, will go to parties and will be as involved as you want to be. After college, it doesn't matter. Theta is looked down upon on this site, but their reputation is one of the best (if not the best) in the United States. You will have a successful rush if you are open minded and realistic.
