personal preference
by: Well ThenLooks like many have it all figured out with one big exception -- personal preference. In the day-to-day real world, it actually exists. And some classy in-state and out-of-state recruits actually select their sorority based on friendships, instincts & vibes, and take exception to the supposed tier rankings to select where they feel comfortable and wanted. Yes. Inexplicably it happens.

So how are you going to base a house on "friendships" when you don't know any one?
As far as instincts and vibes, did you even rush? Houses literally prepare months to put their fake foot forward during rush, and you are telling girls to pick who they like based on few minutes (At most) of talking to a few actives?
By you're same logic we should all sleep with a guy that talks to us for 5 minutes straight.
Thing is, the majority has already done it's research and that's why you have labels.
Only bottom tier houses who have bad reps and can't shake off their bad reps post constantly with "pick based on rush" so they can lure in some bait by being fake for a week.

Successful individuals do their homework in advance, know what they want, have a backup plan, accept the best options available to them, and never look back. They do not join one country club and second guess if they selected the wrong club, or marry and second guess if they married the right one. They make the best of it.
As far as sleeping with a guy after five minutes, this is only advisable if you have done your homework. Same rules apply. And a top sorority or fraternity has its value but will not change your life - only you can do that.
