time for a new sorority @ ole miss
by: OKay...
Now that Theta will be leaving at the end of the semester, what would it take for the Panhel to look into open expansion of another NPC Sorority? Rush #'s are still high for the remaining 10 NPC Orgs. so adding new sorority would be beneficial in helping even the recruitment #'s. Four NPC Orgs should be considered....

Delta Zeta
Sigma Kappa (they just recently colonized at Bama with 250)

Maybe Alpha Phi did so well coming back because of that brilliant recruitment strategy they have from University of Michigan! First of all, no matter what NPC, big or small, comes to Ole Miss, they'll always be the bottom of the barrel. Secondly, we do all need to realize that while this situation happened at Ole Miss, it will likely continue to happen on campuses everywhere.
At UGA, DG and DPhiE take the bottom tier.
AT UF, it's Sigma Kappa.
At South Carolina it's AXiD.
And if these groups end up in the same predicament as Theta at Ole Miss, look out for the second "bottom" tier group, because you'll be the next target. Instead of pointing and laughing because one or two chapters aren't the beauty queens or the social butterflies doesn't mean they are a bad chapter, and until all Panhellenics get on board with this, I see more of this in the future.

It doesn’t have to be this way though! We built a strong Greek presence off tradition; it’s what so many people love about SEC schools. But the tradition can’t get in the way of growth. If we can’t continue to grow and just stay complacent with “it’s the way it’s always been,” we’ll die. I’m hoping that the one silver lining out of this loss is that all the chapters realize how much better things would have been if we had all built theta up instead of tearing them down.
