mississippi mid and bottom tiers
by: HmmSo if you're from Jackson or Memphis, etc and you aren't in a top tier traditional 'Mississippi' sorority, does that mean: 1)Your grades/resume suck 2) You weren't popular back in HS 3) You have enemies in top houses 4) All of the above.

Or that you wanted a different house. My cousin was a legacy to a top tier but didn't want to be in mom's house (although they wanted her), so she chose a mid-tier that she loved. I knew another girl who just liked a mid-tier better than the top tiers that kept inviting her back.
It's not always a negative, some people actually want a different house than the top tier.

Ridiculous statement. It does not mean that at all. In fact, a block of Memphis girls chose what people call a mid-tier sorority in this year's recruitment. Surprising a top tier sorority and another mid-tier sorority who wanted a few of them too when they made that choice. Keeping an open mind in recruitment (ignoring the tier talk) is the best advice anyone gave me, if you do that, you will land where you belong. I know it is cliche but it is true. Ole Miss is notorious for cutting legacies outside of Ole Miss legacies.

Noticed how many "Jackson/Oxford/Memphis" pnms are choosing to not rush into the same old houses - both girls and guys? Grade 13 is real and there are some that want to, ya know, graduate and meet people outside of their neighborhood/private school circle. Trust me, our chapters will take them, they are just choosing what's right for them, not their mamas and daddies, lol, and that's ok. Let's us choose our pc, too, and not just take in legs.
