by: honestIf you were born here and consider yourself Mississippi rich and your goal in life is to join the Jackson junior league then this place is for you. Otherwise, those sweet southern girls are super catty to each other, competitive for no reason, and think they’re hot in their caked on makeup, giant tassel earrings which are out of style but are too isolated to know and fake Gucci accessories. The town is pretty but so are a lot of other college towns with better bars and shopping. The sorority houses are nice but not when you compare them to other SEC houses. Tailgating at the Grove? Hate to tell you but all SEC schools tailgate in similar style. If you want real tailgating try SMU. I don’t consider a bunch of camp chairs, decorated cookies, and sausage rolls thrown on a silver tray to be the end all of Tailgate parties. But hey if your Mississippi rich and that’s all you know then I guess it’s good. It’s like being stuck in a small town high school where they just will never know there is a bigger and better world out there. If you’re not from Mississippi don’t bother coming here.

You must be one of the Bama trolls. I'm OOS and I love it here. Oxford is beautiful and the people are nice. If you can't be happy here you probably won't be happy anywhere.

Anyone who comes on here and bashes other sororities is a troll, but 'honest' is not only a troll but one of those trolls who stalks GR to bash other schools. They're all probably mentally unbalanced. Actually I'm not sure which is worse - someone who bashes a school they have never attended or someone who is actually bashing people from their own alma mater. Sites like GR bring out the bullies and trolls and their 'honest' opinions, which are usually just the ramblings of some deeply insecure people.

For some reason Ole Miss seems to have more stalkers/trolls etc than all other schools combined. Not sure if our big Greek life makes us an easy target or what.

Oh why is it always a troll? Truth is this school is not kind to oos students. Amazing, considering the state couldn’t bring in enough revenue to keep this institution open just from ms kids! Step off and reevaluate how oos students are treated esp w sororities. What is the percentage of oos students?
Truth is always painful but you need their money.

Wait, so someone gives you their opinion which is different than yours, and it reinforces your point? That you're being picked on? Bullied? Whatever? After you bashed everything about Ole Miss? I doubt you are an Ole Miss student, but if you really are and you really are moving because you need to be in a top tier - than good luck to you. But honestly if you can't find friends in a sorority as large as ours are than the problem is probably you.

It is sad that you feel the need to transfer to a school where your "sorority is a top house"! You were obviously cut from the top houses here and are very bitter. I feel sorry for your "sisters" at your new school being that you felt the ones here aren't good enough. I sure hope they meet all of your expectations so you don't feel the need to get on GR and bash them too.

Omg! Some poor girl posts an unflattering view and everyone on here slams her for being a troll or stalker. But those same moms bashing her are probably the same ones obsessively ranking the top few houses over and over again so they will feel some sense of self importance in their life. Agree she probably got a bottom house and is now transferring but look at your own actions and agendas before you start slamming hers. Yes, I’m talking to you moms! The truth is this school can be very unwelcoming to oos girls even if they did get a top house.

Travel from all over the world? Hattiesburg maybe. I only know of one bachelorette party that flew down to tailgate so they could be on tv and it was sad because everyone put out the red carpet for them and they went back north and made fun of the whole weekend and how backwoods Miss was.

im oos and wish i wouldve toured those, oxford/ole miss is a beautiful college town and a beautiful school with some of the worst people ive ever met
