why is aphi a lower ranked sorority????
by: FunstuffThey have so many nice girls in Aphi but it is still a low ranked house!! Is it because they are new??? Idk but they are all really pretty and sweet they should be ranked higher imo but just wondering why they are ranked so low.

Why are sororities that get fined annially by CPC, NPC, panhell (whatever you want to call it) for cutting over the VR quota in order to get a high return rate of girls who already committed to pledge to the before recruitment started. Which no-profit business model is that? mission/vision oriented?

People are thinking way too hard about this.
APhi is not top tier because at Ole Miss our tiers have to do with how long a chapter has been on campus. That's why the top houses are so mississippi strong. they've been here forever and have the instate networks to support the recruitment of other mississippi students each year.
Truly - if you look at the tiers they generally follow the timeline of when houses were established on campus. generally...not exclusively.
All the other stuff written out in this thread is just...extra. Alphi Phi is doing just fine. They are recruiting the types of girls that they want, just as every house is. They have their priorities, just as Kappa has theirs (for example). Let it be. There are more than enough impressive PNMs to go around. Let the houses define what impresses them and everybody else worry about themselves.\n\n\n\n\n

You have an active imagination. There are no fines for houses that don't/can't issue enough invitations, and no house invites back less than they can on purpose. Houses that don't recruit well may not be able to make their full list so they are not penalized for such a thing, and the numbers that the more established houses have to work with are so small right now with variable quota that they could invite three times as many and still get a great return rate. Panhellenic limits the maximum a house can invite back so that pnm's won't be strung along. Also, wanting to bid legacies and girls you've known for years isn't cheating.
