deferred rush

Because when it happened at the start of school, those who didn't get a bid to the house they wanted would just drop out of Ole Miss on the spot. So many dorm move-outs happened after bid day. It was ridiculous. The school lost a lot of freshmen, and money, that way. So rush was pushed back after tuition and fees have been paid to make that scenario less likely.

it's not deferred rush, it's just delayed. But I have always thought it was weird that a PNM would care so much about being in one of 3 chapters that they'd literally drop out of school and transfer to a different school just to be in a specific sorority. Literally the definition of being in it for the MRS degree. And that's coming from someone in one of those chapters.

woah okay so my question is answered. I’m a freshman at bama and during recruitment some girls said if they didn’t get the houses they wanted they would drop out and possibly transfer to ole miss but I haven’t heard of anyone actually doing it. Makes sense now that I see this and actually knowing how some girls are absolutely crazy about rush lol. Just wondering is it harder to make friends with rush being so late or does it sorta give you a better idea of what one you wanna rush

i’m an OOS pnm and having rush so late is just making the tension between the pnms worse and worse every week, especially since some girls make different decisions than others (going out, drinking, socializing, etc). the reasoning is understandable but it’s making pnm’s lives hell

It might still be an issue for the Mississippi girls. OOS students have usually committed to the University, and obviously aren't tied to some high school group, so it's not an issue for them if they don't get into one of the Mississippi sororities.
