fraternity rushing

Everyone:
Im from Los Angeles and will be rushing as a freshman. Both Mom / Dad are greek but attended MidWest schools. How much of a disadvantage do I have being from the West Coast with no connections to Ole Miss? Any help / suggestions would be appreciated.

You’ll be cut from some houses automatically (snu, phi delt) and some almost guaranteed cut without good connections (sigchi, ka) and I may be missing one or two but other than that there will usually be some pre rush parties that you can go to and try to meet as many actives as possible and get some connections so I’d try to go to as many as possible. You’ll most likely get a bid from somewhere but it’s 100% in your best interest to try to meet as many actives as you can to get a house you really want.
