ranking by hardest bids for non legacy oos
by: SCar RebelJust curious what your ranking would be it terms of toughest bids(1-11) to get for an oos(Southern) girl who is non legacy, 4.7 GPA 33 ACT? Honors College as well. I do know 5-6 members from different houses. Just curious and not getting hopes up for any particular house. Thank you!

(1) non-legacy = automatically take off all top tier houses (ddd, kd, xo)
(2) no one cares about your grades or how smart you are. grades are more of a pass/fail thing. if you are above their cut offs then you pass, if are you are below their cut offs then it's considered (if you have strong connections and not too far below cut offs then you'll get in). but no one cares if you have a 4.4 gpa and 23 act or a 5.0 gpa and 36 act, one isn't looked at any better than the other. this is sorority recruitment, not college admissions.
(3) any mid to bottom tier. if you have really close friends or click with some mid tier girls and they pull for you then mid tier is very possible. if not bottom tiers take pretty much everyone.
just my prediction from the very limited info you provided: aopi

This above response is bogus. While the “top houses” like KD, DG, XO and DDD have more legacies because they are older chapters, connections are important as well. I came from OOS and preffed two of those houses (and got my first pick), and I really didn’t have inhouse connections (my connections really started through alums who introduced me to actives). Connections are important for KKG and PM as well. If you have good friends in any of the chapters, anything is possible. Just get your recs in and have a great time! Don’t stress.
