recs

I can think of many popular girls with great resumes from prominent schools and tons of connections that got cut from the top house they wanted, either because of a reputation or horrible attitude. It was a big deal, no doubt, but it happens. There were tons of girls in house fighting for these girls but they didn’t win. While I see your point, it’s that attitude that I can’t stand. You probably have never even met someone in half of the houses at Ole Miss. How can you make the decision to completely ruin any chance with them? Going into rush I knew the few houses I would probably end up liking the most, and for the most part I was right. But I kept an open mind and did my homework for each house and ended up really liking some that I didn’t expect to.

We don't 'reserve' spots, we just take who we want. It depends who is coming through from year to year. Legacies with strong chapter connections will almost always be carried to pref. Non-chapter legacies are not connected so they do not have that advantage. Chapter connections are the key. Most houses must carry legacies to the first invited round as a courtesy, even if we already know we are going to release them. No house is required by nationals to bid any legacy, so legacies are release as soon as possible so as to not lead them on.
