First of all, it’s awesome you want to join Greek life. Ole Miss has one of the best Greek communities in the country. Second of all, sororities are NOTHING like the media or movies make them out to be. Sure there are parties and night life, but most of your time will be spent doing philanthropy events or sisterhood events. Every house at Ole Miss is AMAZING and you will be happy wherever you land.

I can only speak for my sorority but I think this likely applies to all houses.

We look for girls who have good academics, well-rounded (that's where interests and activities come in), have an interest in contributing to the chapter (philanthropy, leadership inside the house even if you're not an officer), who will represent us well on campus (has good character, not someone who is a reputation risk, not to say all members are angels, but you get what I mean). In short, a personable, well-rounded person who wants to be part of a sisterhood. Someone who presents themselves well both in and out of the house.

These may sound cliche, but I think these are things that many organizations, sorority or not, look for in members (or employees too).
