rec letters
by: pnmHi I was wondering if you could use social media to ask for help searching for rec letters? Or does that violate any rule? Thank you

It doesn't violate any rule, but I think it's too casual. It takes time for an alum to write you a rec and given that many alums are asked to write recs by a lot of girls, I suggest calling each person to ask if they will write one. I think this is far more thoughtful than a social media blast that goes to everyone which is very impersonal.
And if they do write a rec, I suggest sending a hand-written thank you, not a text or email. Might sound old-fashioned, but those little touches make a difference, especially when someone is taking their time to do this for you - and it's not something they have to do.

doesn't really matter.
top tiers = girls are picked already.
mid tiers = who you know
bottom tier = willing to take everyone
some might look at rec letters. but when you have 1000s of girls rushing, having a random active write the same generic letter as everyone else gets boring. i can't speak for other houses, but i'm top tier and I can tell you no one here bothers to look at your letters, as stated above, we knew which girls we wanted months ago, if not years ago
