Are there houses that accept lower GPAs than some??? With a good resume of extra curriculars is that helpful along with outgoing personality and connections or if you dont have 3.2, 3.0 etc are you basically cut?

Every house has students with 3.0 averages. All the sororities are concerned with GPA however connections, legacies, and stellar resume will also be considered. For the more traditional Mississippi sororities connections will actually be more important than GPA, however with the reduced quotas for the upper and middle tier sororities GPA is the easiest cut.

Go in with an open mind and you should be able to find a sorority home.

Some will accept a gpa below 3. Most cut if a gpa is below 3. Remember, gpa’s arent weighted at OM.

Don’t look at your weighted GPA. AP classes count the same as regular classes in OM’s eyes.

@LessonLearned and @ Correct- Why wouldn't houses look at your weighted GPA? That's what most PNMs send in on recs and resume and it's what is listed on most transcripts that are turned in.

It’s okay to list your weighted GPA on your resume. However Panhellenic only accepts a pure 4 point scale. They will calculate it themselves using your transcript, but they prefer for your high school to calculate it if possible.

Let’s me clarify: Admissions calculate your gpa using a Pure 4 point scale. That’s what Panhellenic sends to all of the sororities. Call Admissions before school starts and they will tell you the high school gpa they have for you in their system.
