what do you think?
by: Tradition & PC ‘17’s
KD/Tri delt
Chi O/DG
Kappa/Phi Mu
Pi Phi/Alpha Phi
ADPi/AOPi
Theta
All the upper mid /middle (Chi O/DG/Kappa/Phi Mu) seem somewhat interchangable to me... its all a matter of personal preference, and who you know in each makes a difference. All seem pretty equally desired
Same kind of thing for adpi/aoii.
Tri delt keeps its spot from pure tradition but slipping...
A Phi seems like it was highly desirable from PNMs but so new and lacks tradition that its gonna take a minute

The thing about Alpha Phi is not that they are highly desired by PNMs going through....they are just super strategic about rush, and honestly good for them. For the top four houses they of course had their chapter legacies and a few other legacies at the head of their lists, and then they list the girls they want next, This is where Alpha phi is brilliant, they put those top girls with no connections at the very top of their lists and then get a house full of beautiful girls who were on other lists just not as high.
This has given the illusion that Alpha Phi is in demand, and it also makes a lot of girls happy that they ended up with their "second choice".
This strategy is why they have passed Theta, Adipi, and AOpi who are not as aggressive in rush and clearly not as strategic.
This makes Alpha Phi have an amazing group of girls to showcase and it is a fantastic plan. Kudos to Alpha Phi for moving up in the ranks with two years of girls getting stuck with their second choice and rockin it.

I think you might see it this way if you are an Alpha Phi.
However, in reality Alpha Phi is still toward the bottom. They have had some successful recruitments but everyone has had successful recruitments even with variable quota. Alpha Phi has had the advantage of the variable quota with a quota close to 200 at some points while the top and middle have been restricted to 100 to 120. They tend to be the last resort for the students coming in with the lowest GPAs, so if their strategy is to recruit the lowest GPA they are winning. There is no way they are higher than AOPi which is seen as a strong OOS sorority and is on the same tier as Pi Phi.
I will agree that Alpha Phi is probably better at using their social media {and this site which is pointless for impressing Actives).
