why does ole miss seem so....fake!??

Serious question...
Have been following a lot of girls from UT, Bama and Ole Miss the past year before I decided to go to Ole Miss and noticed the girls here self promote like no other. UT - barely anyone lists their sorority or wears stickers. Bama - half list their sorority, half wear stickers. Ole Miss - almost everyone lists their sorority, wears stickers and post these insta stories....
"Go girl, go (insert sorority)!"
"It's a great day to be a (insert sorority)"
"thank you @(insert sorority) for finding me my best friends"
First off, it just seems super FAKE. If you were actually having that much fun, why would you stop to post about it?
Second, I hope everyone is actually have that much fun (I really do), but it just seems fake when you guys use the same pics, same posts and say the same things...it's like ya'll are being brain washed. Like is it part of the sorority to have to post these things?

99% of the time this is for the sorority. No one is forcing girls to post these things, but they are often told to post fun stuff on social media promoting their sorority - not for random people, but for PNMs. Everyone wants all the PNMs to think their sorority is the best. And most PNMs love to see this kind of stuff. I remember seeing this kind of stuff made me even more excited. Nothing is wrong with it unless you actually hate your sorority and are lying in your posts hahah though it can be excessive
Also...Bama is definitely on the same level as Ole Miss in terms of saying letters in their bios and wearing stickers and stuff. And they post about their sororities a lot, just not necessarily stories saying "go girl go ABC!!" every day

Completely disagree.
I don't mind recruitment videos, yeah I know it's just fake smiles and they re-use the same 3-4 pretty girls for 90% of the shots, but I still like whole concept: what song they pick, the theme, etc etc.; I like the competition aspect and seeing who can put out the best video, just like who can raise the most for fundraisers.
When I was a PNM and saw girls post about how great their house was it was a total turn off. I agree with OP it looked completely fake, considering they re-use the same images and say the same exact thing.
Sorry, we do not need a competition to see which sorority can post the most IG stories about their house. It's completely dumb

You're right in that we do not need a competition to see which sorority can post the most IG stories about their house. We don't need it, but we do it anyways and that's fine. It doesn't really matter. Some girls post stuff like this all the time (fake or not) and some girls never post this stuff; some PNMs love it and think it's great and some PNMs hate it. It's just a matter of personal preference.
I also love the recruitment videos. They're pointless and do not give a real representation of the sorority but they're fun

I love the sorority that I'm in and I want others to love it just as much as I do! That's why I post about it on my ig, and I think the same can be said for 99.9% of the girls who do as well. It's not going to be everyone's thing but that's ok because no one is forcing you to do anything. If it's annoying you that bad I think a simple unfollow would suffice. If being in a sorority doesn't appeal to you then don't join one, simple as that. No need to be nasty!

since sarcar is posted on here, let's use her, i think her man sent her some flowers for bday saying something cheesy that've all heard before "you need more than one day to celebrity you". cute, right?
image your bday being a week later and your boyfriend sending you the same flowers with the same note. cute, right? fake!
sorry but pnm know when it's fake and this is 100% fake. if you love it, you shouldn't have a hard time creating something original.
