the Christmas cards really don’t mean anything, and the followings don’t mean much but it’s still a cool thing to get excited for. Girls will follow you just bc they know you will follow back, but making plans could turn into making more connections

I was dmed by one girl my senior year and she ended up being my big/best friend, so you never know where making these connections early on may lead to!

stop calling it a sorority.

If girls you don't know start messaging you and sending you stuff, isn't that dirty rushing?

This is usually a good sign. This means that someone in that sorority (or an alumni) knows you and likes you and has told other people in her sorority about you. They seem to want to get to know you more. This doesn't mean you have a bid. It just means they're interested.

However, don't get your hopes up about any house because you never know how many people in house are pulling for you, how hard they are pulling for you, or how much their opinion matters. It is all a numbers game and we don't know how it'll end up until we get the lists on bid day.

means nothing. top houses are based on legacy (biggest factor), then the few girls from the same high school/town.

having a random girl follow you and send you a card half way through your senior year doesn't mean she's going to pick you over a friend from her high school (with the few spots left after legacies fill up).

but it's a bad sign if you don't follow back. but don't expect anything out of them following you. most cards are bought in bulk and given by the houses to sisters to give to high school PNMs. also they follow u bc they know you will follow back and like pics
