adpi

Funny you asked this because this is the question that runs through my head. After the last party at DG, I thought "that's the one" only to have the exact same reaction at ADPi.
If I get to choose, I don't think I can go wrong. I love the girls at each, both have stunning houses (haha), I know older girls in both, and they both seem to care about grades and maintaining a good reputation when it comes to behavior. (Yes, always a few in each will be wild but overall they seem ladylife) Both are involved on campus and push members to be their best. I like that each seems to value their sisterhood relationships. Overall, both just seem to be the kind of women I enjoy being friends with. High energy and peppy. Also very smiley and sweet. Oh, my personal thing I avoid is people who seem "too cool for school." both dg and adpi express enthusiasm about their involvement and are the opposite of hipsters. Obviously, this is a personal post, and I respect that other PNMs will have their favorite chapters at this point. I have to keep my options open because I could get cut by both after tomorrow. Any advice would be great!I'm praying I have two pref options.
Pi Phi is also up there on my list as of now. Also liked Phi Mu, but that was not to be.

These are strong sororities on campus (ADPi continues to build and refine its identity) and nationally. The seem to have run solid recruitments and should be proud of how well they did. I know members in both and they are dynamos/ go get 'ers. ADPi's pc last fall was killer. Love that both bring passion and commitment to their chapters.
I was cut by DG and wasn't willing to take a risk on a brand new sorority when I went through recruitment. Now, Adpi has a presence on grounds and good reputation so I hope PNMs will consider what both very involved houses have to offer. We don't always talk about grades and standards when evaluating if a sorority is popular, but those markers matter to your membership experience.
My advice from a upper classwoman: wherever you pref (or before), see if you can politely and casually raise the issue of the chapter's standards and grades with your member. I know those things seem bo-ring, but they actually matter when you're part of an organization. Panhellenic is about to play a larger role in governing Greek life and one of their main punishments will be taking away social opportunities (parties, etc.) and they will start to penalize for chapters that do not abide by Ole Miss agreements on both standards and grades. Sorry to end on a down note. I just think PNMs need the privilege of more info about Greek Life at Ole Miss and not less.
