number of houses
by: NervousIf I am only invited back to 3 or 4 houses tomorrow should I tell the houses I am really interested in, that I can really see myself being a member of the ones I can? Also how many should I list for pref round? Do we rank the houses in order or just list our 1 and 2 choice? What happens iif I don't get a bid ft either? Would they then go to my third choice? Provided I get asked back to 3?

First of all, please remember that it just takes one bid and that's all anyone will have at the end. I'm hoping others will write in with strategic advice on how to list for pref round. Your thought to tell the chapters that you love that you love being there and hope to part of them sounds like a great idea. Do not be downtrodden at the houses tomorrow. Those houses like you and want to make a good impression on you! They want to get to know you and are glad you're coming back!

Tell the ones that your interested in that you can see yourself there, and that you feel at home! No matter how many you have tomorrow, give all of them a chance and maximize all your options when you fill out your Pref card. Just rank them all in order of preference and that's all you can do 'x really. Good luck!

Let's break down all your questions:
1. Should you tell the houses you're interested in that you can really see yourself being a member?
Definitely tell them how excited you were to see their chapter on your party list! I think Sisterhood is still a little early to be saying you're sold on that one house but being genuinely excited to be back and saying that you're enjoyed every round at their house as you're leaving the party is ok.
2. How many should you list for Pref? Do you rank in order or just 1-2?
You mean after Pref when you fill out your pref card? You would only list the chapters whose Pref parties you attended on the pref card. So if you were invited to 2 Prefs and you like ABC better than XYZ you would list the two of them with ABC being your #1 and XYZ being your #2. If you are only invited to one chapter for Pref, you just list that chapter as your #1 and leave #2 blank.
3. What happens if you don't get a bid to either? Would they go to your third choice?
If you attend Pref and list every chapter whose Pref you attended on your card (whether you went to 1 or 2 Pref parties), you are guaranteed a bid to one of those chapters....this is what is meant by "maximizing your options". If both chapters have reached quota before your name is listed on either Pref list, you will be added to one of the chapters as a Quota Addition (you won't know you were a QA, just that you got a bid).
If you only attend 1 Pref, you are guaranteed a bid to that chapter.
If you attend two but only list one on your pref card, you will only get a bid if your name is high enough on the list for you to match before they make quota. If they make quota before your name comes up, you chose to "suicide" and therefore get no bid.
There is NO scenario where you would even be on your 3rd choice's bid list because you didn't attend their Pref.
